Inder had entered the sanctuary yesterday to collect firewood when the big cat attacked him. The farmer raised an alarm following which locals rushed to his rescue, forest department officials said today.
The farmer sustained injuries on his head, face and chest and was rushed to hospital for treatment, they said.
