A farmer was shot dead by three unidentified assailants allegedly over rivalry in the family in Lashkariganj village under Bithri police station area here, police said.
The assailants initially tried to kidnap Ved Prakash when he was working in the field and shot him dead when he tried to escape, Sameer Saurabh, SP City said.
A case has been registered against three unidentified persons and investigations are on.
