Farmer stoned to death

A 60-year-old farmer was

stoned to death allegedly by some unidentified men when he resisted them from stealing his buffalo at Bhanera village in Shamli district, police said today.

The incident took place last night under Kandhla police station when some unidentified men hit Umrao Singh with bricks and took away his buffalo from the house, police said.

The body, which bore injury marks, has been sent for post mortem, they said adding that efforts are on to nab the absconding accused.
