Hundreds of farmers today took out a rally to protest against Madhya Pradesh government's proposal to construct a new building of the district court on the premises of agriculture college here.

The state government plans to set up a new court complex on around 20 acres land on agriculture college.

Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Sangh president Shiv Kumar Sharma said, "If construction work is taken up on the agriculture college land, it is going to ruin the three-decade long research in crops grown of the institute."

He threatened that the farmers from the state would launch an agitation if the state government does not scrap the proposal.

Sharma alleged that the revenue department officials have tampered with the government land records to grab the land.
