CPI(M) and CPI today urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to fast track execution of development schemes meant for Andhra Pradesh and make an announcement in this regard during foundation laying ceremony of Amaravati, designated capital of the state, tomorrow.
In their joint letter to Modi, CPI(M) and CPI general secretaries, Sitaram Yechury and S Sudhakar Reddy respectively, today expressed concerns that the schemes assured ahead of bifurcation of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh last year are yet to be put in operation, affecting growth of economically backward region in the state.
"We are of the strong opinion that promises made to the people and assurances given to Parliament must be immediately addressed and consequently all the proposed schemes for development are put in operation.
