On his maiden performance in India, the internationally renowned beach music artist played in the city yesterday amongst 1,000-odd people. And as he came to an end with his show the audience kept chanting "we want more".

The 48-year-old drove the crowd crazy with his techno hits like "Praise You", "The Rockafeller Skank" and "Right Here Right Now".

Cook started his performance surprisingly on time, and as he entered the venue he greeted his fans with 'Namaste'.

Organised by 6th Dimensional Entertainment owned by popular Indian DJ Nikhil Chinappa, the evening also saw Chinappa and DJ Arjun Waghale play their hit numbers.

Unlike the past few concerts including Metallica and Bryan Adams being cancelled here, Fatboy Slim's concert adhered the guidelines and became a huge hit among the audience.

"I had never heard of him but I am glad that I have come... He is really good, probably the best I have heard in India," said a 19-year-old college student.

"I am happy that the concert went on without an issues. Past experiences of concerts in Guragon haven't been great... I really enjoyed," a 25-year-old engineer said.

The British DJ will be performing in Bangalore today.
