A father-son duo, who were wanted for allegedly duping crores of rupees from several gullible investors on the pretext of selling them prime lands at 'reasonable' rates, were arrested by Crime Branch on Monday, police said today.

The accused, who were declared as proclaimed offenders by a city court, have been identifed as Ramesh Chand Aggarwal (60) and his son Neeraj Kumar Aggarwal. They were wanted in five cases registered at different police station across the capital.

"The accused used to prepare forged title documents of disputed properties and used to sell them under the name of a registered Maha Maya Builders Pvt Ltd company," said Additional Commissioner of Police, Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Crime Branch Sanjay Tyagi.

The accused allegedly told police that in order to trap innocent buyers, they had even registered Maha Maya Builders Pvt Ltd company to project their credibility in a professional manner.

"They had duped one Ajay Chaudhry to the tune of Rs 12 crore on the pretext of selling him a disputed property in Karbala Lane, Lodhy Colony. The complainant, however, grew suspicious and got a case registered with the EOW," said Tyagi.
