A father and his three-year-old son were allegedly crushed to death here by a tanker while they were returning home on a cycle, police said today.
The deceased Babli (50) and his son Shiva were coming home from a market last night when their cycle was hit with the tanker carrying milk, near Panki road here, police said.
While the cycle fell into a drain along the road side, the duo fell on the road and came under the wheels of the tanker following which they died on the spot, said police.
Police has impounded the tanker while the vehicle driver fled from the spot, they said.
Irate locals and relatives of the victims jammed the road and pelted stones on the tanker. Police intervened and assured them of compensation by the government.
Police is searching for the driver and investigations in the case are on, they said.
