A father-son duo was today arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh police for allegedly being involved in the smuggling of forest wood.
Mahajan and his son Rambhoolan were arrested following a tip-off in the Mahanagar locality, IG (Law and order) Amrendra Senga told reporters here.
The duo allegedly used to run a gang involved in the smuggling of forest wood in Bahraich district, he said. The two accused have been handed over to Bahraich police.
