FCI manager arrested for accepting bribe

A FCI manager was arrested by Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths while allegedly accepting bribe from a contractor here, ACB officials said today.

The accused, identified as Nehal Singh Meena, Depot Manager at Food Corporation of India (FCI), was arrested yesterday for accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a contractor at government purchase centre in Baran here, ACB Baran, Circle Inspector, Sallauddin Siddique said.

The manager had demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 from Mukut Bihari Nagar to approve the purchase of low quality wheat at his centre, he said.

A trap was laid and the manager was nabbed while he accepted cash, he said, adding, a search operation is on at accused's residence.
 

Meena was later presented before a ACB court which sent him to judicial custody till April 29, they said.
