FDA official held in a bribery case

A senior official of Food and Drugs Administration here was caught allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) said today.

The accused, Pravin Badrinarayan Mundada (51), Assistant Commissioner FDA, (BKC, Bandra East) had demanded the bribe to clear a file about shop licence, the anti-graft agency said.

The complainant had approached the ACB on Monday and brought the matter to its notice. A trap was laid today at the office and Mundada was caught taking money, it added.

ACB sleuths recovered the money from the accused and further probe into the matter is on.
