The country received Rs 37.64 crore foreign direct investment (FDI) in agriculture services in the April-May period of this fiscal, Parliament was informed today.
FDI up to 100 per cent is permitted under automatic route in specified activities of the agriculture and allied sectors.
Placing the data before the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Agriculture Mohanbhai Kundaria said FDI in agriculture sector was Rs 37.64 crore in April-May of the 2015-16 fiscal.

Interestingly, FDI in agriculture sector has been declining in the last three financial years.
It stood at Rs 875.90 crore in 2012-13, Rs 559.66 crore in 2013-14 and Rs 352.37 in 2014-15, as per the data.
