Fee: Action against 11 pvt schools in Jammu

Action has been initiated against 11 leading schools in Jammu for charging heavy fees in violation of norms.

The Committee for Fixation of Fee Structure (FFC) of private educational institutions has initiated action the schools including Delhi Public School, KC Group of Schools and GD Goenka School, an official spokesman said.

The FFC has received complaints that these schools have increased the fees exorbitantly in violation of the directions of the High Court, without proper permission, the spokesman said, adding, the Committee has issued notices to these schools to explain their position.

Besides this, the schools have been directed to reduce their fee structure wherever arbitrary increase in the fees has been made, he said.
 

Meanwhile, acting on a complaint filed by eight parents against GD Goenka School, Jammu, the FFC has directed the school management to submit the record of fee structure in 2014.

The students of all schools and their parents have been asked to pay fee to the school establishments only according to the pattern as was applicable in August 2014 and feel free to report to the committee if any school is found violating the High Court directions, the spokesman said.
