Two poverty stricken families today handed over their female infants to the Cradle Baby Centre at the Government Medical College Hospital here.
Hospital sources said while one of the family had already has four daughters and gave birth to another few days back. The parents decided to handed over their child to the centre as they could not be able to bring up all the children.
The second family had three daughters. They also handed over their new born to the centre.
The Centre has received so far 1403 babies, including 74 males since its inception in April, 2002, the sources said.
