Female torso found on Mumbai seashore

A woman's torso, bundled in a cement bag, was found at a seashore near the Bandra-Worli Sea Link here, police said today.

The identity of the woman aged between 20-40 years was yet to be ascertained, said R S Kane, Inspector at Bandra police station adding, "she was murdered and then her torso was bundled in the empty cement bag. The killer/s subsequently threw the bag in the sea that reached the seashore floating yesterday at about 9.30PM."

An FIR was registered unidentified accused under IPC section 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence).

Giving description of the victim, the officer said the torso was fair in colour. "A chocolate bed sheet, blue colour dress and a black top was found on the body."
 

The torso was taken to a nearby civic run hospital and all the police stations have been contacted to know if any missing person's complaint was registered.

The police are scanning CCTV footages of Bandra-Worli sea link to know from which direction the bag reached the shore.
