In a bid to strengthen the bond between the kids and fathers, who often struggle to give them time because of official commitments, a two-day festival is being held at Maharashtra Nature Park in Dharavi here from tomorrow.

Grooming Babies Global will be holding the event 'Under The Peepal Tree', wherein kids and fathers would demonstrate their collective skills in a mix of games, workshops, experiential engagements and performances.

"Fathers in a city like Mumbai lack time to spend with their child. We have designed this festival for working fathers who can meaningfully engage with their kid in an open set-up," Oindrila Purohit, founder director of Grooming Babies Global, said.

The festival is ideal for children between age groups of 2 to 10.

"Reports show that dads spending quality time with their child leads to heightened mental well-being and enhanced learning. Healthy interaction with father in the early years sets the base for future relationships," she said.

Since traditionally mothers drive most of child upbringing, parent-child activities largely are structured keeping moms' engagement in mind. But 'Under The Peepal Tree' we have conceptualised to bridge gap between the father and the child, said Purohit.
