Head Coach of the French Tennis Federation (FFT) will conduct clinics for players and coaches in India when the qualifiers of the Rendezvous event will be held in Pune and Kolkata.
The 16 finalists to emerge from the Rendezvous qualifiers will compete at the DLTA on April 18 and 19 to secure a berth in the Playoffs in Paris, where the eventual winner will get a wild card for the junior French Open.
Sam Primaut, FFT Director of Development, said they want to give Indian players more time and opportunities to train on clay courts.
"We are happy to have two qualifiers (in Pune and Kolkata), because it means that the duration of total presence of Roland Garos will be more than one month. It is good to stretch little bit this tournament," Primaut told PTI.
"We have signed an agreement with the Federation in India to develop the practise to play on clay because there are many advantages to learn on clay. We feel so all the good players now today, may be 90 per cent of them, are trained (raised) on clay. We are just (here) to develop practise of playing on clay," he added.
"We think there is a great potential in India, about players and developing on clay," he said.
