Acting on a tip off, the police arrested the two smugglers, identified as Ashok Prasad and Mukhilal Prasad, with the haul of fake currency notes in the denomination of the face value of Rs 1000 (97) and Rs 500 (6), Manjholia police station's Station House Officer (SHO) Manoj Kumar said.
The smugglers had brought the fake currency notes from Virganj in Nepal and were on way to Chanpatia railway station to board a train for Ahmedabad to deliver the consignment to a client there, he said.
