All field offices of Delhi government's revenue department will remain open tomorrow so that maximum people living in unauthorised colonies can avail the benefit of reduced sewer and water development charges for new connections.
According to a senior government official, September 25 (Friday) is last date to get water and sewer connections at 80 per cent reduced rates. The one-time 80 per cent reduction came into force from June 26.
"Government has directed all field offices of the Revenue Department to remain open tomorrow, as all government offices will remain close for Eid. We are expecting more people to come forward to take new connection during an off day," the senior officer said.

As per government records, over one lakh people from unauthorised colonies of Delhi have come forward to avail new connections after DJB effected reduction in charges.
"Delhi government had reduced the sewer and water development charges on June 26 for a period of three months. Thousands of households are coming forward everyday to submit application for new connection. So far the number of new applications has gone over one lakh," a senior DJB officer said.
"The reduction has been drastic and historic with water development charges reduced from Rs 440 per sqm to Rs 100 per sqm, while the sewer development charges have been brought down from Rs 494 per sqm to Rs 100 per sqm," the official said.
DJB has also reduced the regularisation charges for illegal connections in other residential areas from Rs 18,000 to Rs 3,300.
From September 26, original sewer and water development charges as well as regularisation charges will be applicable, official said.
The applications for new connections can be submitted in the office of the zonal revenue officer. The facility of online application and online payment is also available.
