A top official from world football governing body FIFA today inspected the D Y Patil Stadium, one of the six venues to host the U-17 World Cup matches.
The World Cup is being hosted by India for the first time and it commences from October 6.
FIFA general coordinator Pavel Luzanov inspected the stadium and its preparedness, sources told PTI.

According to the official, a final decision on the handover of the stadium to FIFA is expected to be taken shortly.
The other venues for the World Cup are Guwahati, Kolkata, Delhi, Kochi and Goa.
