"The inefficient functioning of the National Conference- led government has assumed dangerous dimensions with every public service and resource being sold for a price", PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said at a convention of party workers at Langate area of Kupwara district.

He said people would have to rise against "this open loot and stop the state from slipping into a completely ungovernable territory".

"Inefficiency, atrocities, nepotism, favouritism and corruption flourished under all the NC dispensations but the present coalition was taking the state into an unprecedented administrative anarchy which had the potential of deepening the alienation", Sayeed alleged.

He said there was no denying the fact that a sentiment of disaffection and alienation always existed in the state which needed a broad minded political approach to address but bad governance has historically provided the trigger to trouble.

"To prevent another outburst of public anger, it is necessary that the coalition puts its act together but it seems beyond its capacity to mend things as with waning public support every constituent of it was out only to make personal fortunes", he added. (More)
