Terming PDP as a spent force in coming Lok Sabha elections, ruling National Conference (NC) today said that the real fight would be between secular NC-Congress alliance and communal BJP.

"PDP is a spent force in ensuing elections. The real fight would be between secular NC-Cong alliance and communal BJP," party provincial president Devender Singh Rana said addressing a public rally in Rajouri while campaigning for party candidate Madan Lal Sharma.

"The PDP has been assigned with the job of cutting secular votes by the Sangh Parivar which they are trying to do but will not succeed," he said.

Rana said the Lok Sabha election is a battle of ideas, in which the PDP has volunteered to stand by the side of Narendra Modi's BJP as per mutually agreed understanding so as to grab power in the state after Assembly elections.

Stating that PDP-BJP combine was "detrimental to the peaceful atmosphere of Jammu and Kashmir", he said, "all their designs have dashed to ground with the support of people and leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, which has resulted in peace for over four years".

Rana lambasted Modi's hypocrisy regarding Jammu and Kashmir, saying those pursuing Shyma Prasad Mukherjee doctrine on Kashmir cannot think beyond myopic prism.

Speaking on the occasion, Planning and Development Minister Ajay Sadhotra exuded confidence about the massive victory of the alliance, saying this is imperative for strengthening democratic and secular forces.
