Files, furniture, gutted in fire at Sahakar Bhawan in Jaipur

Furniture and files were today gutted in a fire broke that broke out in the Sahakar Bhawan building housing 23 state departments here, police said.

The fire was reported at around 12.30 PM following which two fire tenders were rushed to the spot, police said adding that the flames were extinguished in about thirty minutes.

The fire occurred due to shortage in an air-conditioner installed in a room of Scheduled Caste department, they said.

It being a Sunday today no one was present in the office except a duty guard on the ground floor who informed the police and fire office, they said.
