The film, which has besides Padmapriya, Tamil actor Pasupathy, Makrand Deshpande, Mallika and Swetha Menon playing important roles, is expected to hit theatres on June 22.

Nishad, who is also a producer, alleged that after taking a remuneration of Rs 10 lakh for acting in his film, the actress had given dates for another film due to which he had difficulties in planning out his shooting schedules.

"Padmapriya had given me 22 days for the shooting of the film. But she shot only for 14-16 days", Nishad told PTI.

He alleged that the actress was being controlled by her manager.

Producers Association and other similar organisations had jointly taken a decision that managers should not be allowed to dictate terms in the Malayalam film industry, he said.

Padmapriya, when contacted, told PTI that she would react only after she has a written copy of the complaint filed by the director to the Producers Association.
