"District Karnal became the first district of Haryana where finger print capturing system has been implemented as pilot project," an official spokesman said here.

Additional Director General of Police, State Crime Record Bureau, Madhuban Liak Ram Dabas said that the state police has bought 65 finger print capturing devices recently, which can store full details of finger prints of 26,500 criminals.

"If finger prints of any person were already stored in this device, then it will recognise in no time when the same person put his fingers on it," he said.

This system would be very helpful for police in future in detecting criminals, he added.
