Finish water conservation works in next 2-months: Fadnavis

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today directed all the district collectors to complete Jalyukt Shivar and farm pond works in next two months.

He gave the directions during a video conferencing meeting with collectors and divisional commissioners to review the Jalyukt Shivar, farm ponds, Pradhan Mantri Avas Yojana (PMAY) works.

"The IMD has predicted good monsoon this year. If we have a good storage capacity of rain water, we will benefit from the good monsoon," said Fadnavis.

He said, "In the next two months, priority should be given to agriculture and allied activities."

He directed all the Collectors to strictly follow deadlines, work on mission mode and complete all the remaining works before the arrival of monsoon.
 

Fadnavis asked the Collectors to tie up with all the organisations working in the field of water conservation and come up with innovative projects and models.

He asked the municipal councils and corporations to send two proposals for PMAY within 15 days for approval from state government.
