FIR against 3 police personnel for raping woman

An FIR has been registered against three police personnel, including a sub-inspector, for allegedly raping a woman in Goverdhan town here, police said today.

According to a complaint filed by the woman, Sub-Inspector Ganga Prasad and two constables gang-raped her on December 12 last year and also threatened her of dire consequences if she narrates the incident to anyone, Dy SP Anil Yadav said.

A case has been registered against the accused under section 376 (rape), 120b (criminal conspiracy), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), and 506 (criminal intimidation) on the intervention of the court, he said.
 

Meanwhile, in an another incident, a college student was stabbed by his fellow classmates when he parking his bicycle in the college premises, police said.

The victim, identified as Praveen Chonkar, was admitted in a hospital in serious condition, they said, adding, a case has been registered in this connection.
