Delhi Police have registered an FIR upon orders from a court here against an LPG supply agency for allegedly delivering gas cylinders issued in the name of one woman illegally to another address following her demise.

The FIR citing charges of cheating and forgery was registered upon orders from Metropolitan Magistrate Sunil Sharma following a complaint by an old Delhi resident, one Rupinder Garg.

In his complaint, Garg accuses the west Delhi-based agency of supplying LPG cylinders to an address in Nihal Vihar under a connection which was in the name of his mother, now deceased.

His counsels told the court that Garg and his mother had two LPG connections registered with the Indian Oil Corporation at the same residential address.

However, after the government introduced the 'one house, one cylinder' scheme, the connection in his mother's name was discontinued by the said agency.

Later, while checking the company's website, Garg happened to take a look at the status of the connection in his mother's name and, "was shocked and surprised to see that 11 LPG gas cylinders had been supplied by the gas agency against the connection between June 30, 2012, and March 1, 2013".

The court was told that although the connection was in the name of the complainant's mother, the cylinders were being supplied to a different and unrelated address.

Garg took up the issue with IOC officials and received a reply from their marketing division that, prima facie, some irregularities were found during investigation.

"Therefore, it is prima facie established that the LPG connection in the name of the mother of the complainant... Has been misused by some unknown persons in connivance with the gas agency.

"The agency and other unknown persons colluded... To forge some documents on the basis of which they changed the address of the mother of the complainant and supplied LPG cylinders to unknown persons," the complainant said.
