FIR against six who beat homeguard to death

Vimal Tiwari (32) was on duty at the Vasundhara traffic signal when the six men, posing as journalists, came in a car and asked Tiwari to allow them as also an auto to cross the barricade set up to regulate traffic flow on a route used by 'kanwariyas' (followers of Lord Shiva), they said.

When Tiwari refused to comply, he was beaten up. The men fled from the scene soon after, they said.

Tiwari was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed during treatment, they said.

Two of the accused were identified as Javed and Monu while the remaining four are as yet unidentified, they said.

 

No one has been arrested yet, they said, adding, a case has been registered under various sections of the IPC and hunt is on to nab the accused.
