The Delhi Police has lodged an FIR against a youth for allegedly repeatedly raping a 40-year-old woman, after she approached a court here for directions to the cops to book the accused for the offence.

The woman has accused the 19-year-old youth, who was her neighbour, of raping her 15 times at various places including her house and threatening to upload her objectionable video on the Internet.

The woman filed a complaint with the police but when no action was taken, she approached a Delhi court seeking a direction to the police to lodge an FIR in the matter.

While the court has listed the complaint for hearing on April 3, the police, in the meantime, lodged an FIR against the youth for the alleged offences of raping and threatening the woman.

Advocates Kunal and Ranjan Khatumaria, who filed the plea on behalf of woman in the court, said police was delaying the matter on the point of jurisdiction and while the complaint was given to the police on March 21, it lodged an FIR after a delay on March 29 when they had already approached the court.

The woman said she had shifted to Karawal Nagar in northeast Delhi 18 months ago along with her husband and minor son.

She alleged that as she was not aware of nearby shops, the youth used to bring household items for her and in September last year, he gave her a spiked drink after which she became unconscious and he raped her.

Thereafter, he threatened her by showing her objectionable video and raped her repeatedly, she alleged.
