FIR lodged against 8 after court's intervention

A case was registered against eight persons, months after they allegedly tried to rape and murder a young woman at Musiyar village, following the intervention of a local court.

A local court had yesterday directed the police to file a case of attempt to rape and murder against one Vipin and 7 others.

The victim had moved an application in the court after the police refused to file an FIR.

According to the complainant, Vipin and his seven friends entered her house at Musiyar village under Jelasar police station area on February 17.

They attempted to rape her at gun point. When she resisted, they beat her up and also fired upon her, police said.
 

The girl alleged that she approached all officers of the district police, but they refused to register an FIR. She even met station officer of Jalesar Kotwali, but to no avail.

No arrests have been made, police said, adding that the investigation is on.
