An FIR has been lodged against Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) President Pradip Kumar Balmuchu for allegedly intending to outrage the modesty of a woman, police said today.

Besides Balmuchu, who is a Rajya Sabha MP too, the FIR was also lodged against 16 others with Sitaramdera police station in the steel city yesterday.

The incident occurred when a scuffle broke out over ownership of a house between Prem Bahadur, father of the woman who was admitted to hospital and Blamuchu.

Police have lodged an FIR against Prem Bahadur and others on the basis of a complaint by a relative of Balmuchu the previous day.
