Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna today ordered registration of FIR and CB-CID inquiry against a Haldwani ASP facing allegations of sexually exploiting a woman from Nainital district.

"I have asked the DGP to ensure that an FIR is registered against ASP Pramendra Dobal and CB-CID inquiry is launched into the allegations against him by the woman," the chief minister told reporters at the secretariat here.

No one found guilty of such offences, howsoever important they may be, will be spared, Bahuguna warned.

A woman from Haldwani in Nainital district had yesterday staged a dharna outside the police headquarters here demanding action against the Additional Superintendant of Police whom she accused of sending obscene SMSes to her and exploiting her sexually.

The woman had also threatened to end her life if no action was taken immediately against Dobal. She was shifted to the Doon hospital after taking ill while demonstrating outside the police headquarters.
