A fire broke out at a chemical factory in the Surajpur industrial area around noon today.
It took firemen 4 hours to extinguish the blaze completely. No causality was reported as workers moved out safely.
The dense chemical-laced smoke, however, made breathing difficult in areas around the site.

Chief Fire Officer Arun Kumar Singh said that "It was a chemical based factory. Company owner Ankit Gupta today afternoon informed about the fire incident".
He said that seven fire tenders were rushed there.
"Chemical drums stored at the factory were exploding like bombs. This was causing difficulty in controlling the fire as when the firemen would manage to control the blaze in one portion, another drum would catch fire from the splinters," an official said.
The poisonous gas made breathing difficult in the nearby areas.
"It took four hours to extinguish the fire completely. Loss of goods may be worth lakhs," said Singh.
