A fire broke out on the ninth floor of a hotel in Raj Nagar area of the district this morning, damaging furniture and fixtures.
The fire broke out in a banquet hall of hotel Apple Tree and four fire tenders were pressed into service to douse to the flames.
No one was injured in the blaze, a fire officer said.
"We are probing the cause of the fire. Whether it was due to electric short circuit or some other reasons," said Arun Kumar Singh, Fire Station Officer.
