A fire today broke out at a two-storeyed private rexine sheet manufacturing unit in an industrial area in north-west Delhi's Jehangirpuri.

There was, however, no report of any casualty and injury to anyone, police said.

The fire was reported around 4 PM and 12 fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames. About 50 firefighters took nearly two hours to bring the fire under control, a Delhi Fire Service official said.

According to police, a boiler at the factory at Mahindra Park caught fire which later spread to the whole unit.

Boilers, oil machinery, electric wiring and panels and raw materials were among the items consumed by the blaze, the DFS official said.

The factory is built on a 1,250 sq yard plot. While the manufacturing of rexine sheets is done on the ground floor, the first floor of the building is used for administrative works, police said, adding that the extent of loss was yet to be estimated.
