A fire broke out at Lake Mall in the southern parts of the city late tonight.
A Kolkata Police official said five fire tenders fought the blaze which was spotted around 12 midnight and smoke was still billowing out of the multi-storied shopping mall.
The mall building also houses shops along the roadside on the ground floor.
There was no news of any casualty or injury in the blaze, neither was the cause ascertained.
Kolkata Municipal Corporation Mayor Sovan Chhatterjee went to the spot to supervise firefighting operations.
