Nine shops and an adjacent
house were razed to the ground in a fire that broke out in the market area in Malbazar town in Jalpaiguri district today.
The police said that four fire engines fought for three hours to control the blaze.
According to a preliminary estimate, Rs 50 lakh worth of goods were destroyed, the police said.
