A fire broke out at the Indian Ordnance Factory Board Head Office in central part of the city today, the police said.
No injuries were reported.
The fire broke out at around 2.15 PM today at the computer department in the ground floor of the building, a senior officer of Kolkata Police said.
"Eight fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the blaze. It was controlled soon. The cause of the fire or the extent of damage have not been ascertained. No one was injured," the officer said.
