A major fire broke out at Bangladesh Bank headquarters today.
Around 12 fire tenders were rushed to the spot which doused the blaze after an hour-long effort, officials said, adding no casualties have been reported.
The cause of the fire and the extent of damage were not immediately available.

"The fire broke out on the 13th floor of the Bangladesh Bank building where foreign exchange policy department is housed," a central bank spokesman told media.
He said an inspection is underway to primarily gauge the extent of damage, but expressed hope that the blaze might not have damaged much due to fire fighters' prompt actions.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith, B B Governor Fazle Kabir, and top officials of the central bank rushed to the building after hearing the news.
