A major fire broke out this morning at a 8-storey commercial building in suburban Mumbai but no one has been hurt in the incident, officials said today.

A grade-2 fire broke out on the second floor of 8-storey 'Business Point' building on the Western Express Highway near suburban Andheri, fire brigade officials said.

"We got a call of fire this morning and subsequently sent four fire engines and four tankers to the spot. The fire had broken out on the second floor, room no. 349, of the building," the official said.

Later, the blaze was brought under control and cooling operations were underway, he said.

The official said that all those present in the building were safely brought out of the premises and there was no injury in the incident.

"Since it was morning time, most people had not reached their offices, hence there were not many persons there at the time of the fire. All those present have been successfully taken out," he said.
