Fire broke out at a leading jewellery showroom in a six-storey building located near a metro station here today but caused no casualties, a senior fire official said.
Ten fire engines and around 60 personnel were involved in the efforts to put off the blaze which took about 5-6 hours, Regional Fire Officer (East Range) Ravi Shankar said, adding, there had been no casualties.
Shankar said short circuit might have caused the fire.
"It was a difficult task for us as bullet proof glasses had been used for the showroom situated on the first floor of the building," he added.
