A fire broke out today in a cloth godown at a busy commercial street here, destroying goods comprising cloth and other inflammable material, police said.
The incident happened when the locals noticed smoke coming from the godown around 1 PM. The shopkeepers tried to control the fire but were unable to do so, they said.
However, fire tenders were rushed to the spot. The cause of the fire is suspected to be short circuit, fire department officials said.
