Fire breaks out in shop, none hurt

Fire broke out in a garment shop here today but no casualty was reported, police said.

Goods like saris, dresses and furniture worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in the fire that broke out in the wee hours in the shop at Sai complex near Shirdi shrine, an official at Shirdi police station said.

People staying in a nearby hotel noticed the fire, following which fire tenders were pressed into service, the officer said.

The fire was brought under control and no loss of life has been reported, police said, adding the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
