Fire broke out in two different areas of the city today but there was no report of any injury in both the incidents, police said.
A fire broke out on the ground floor of a four-storied-building on Sambhu Nath Pandit Street in Bhawanipore area at around 5.30 am, they said.
Three fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the fire, a senior officer of the fire department said.
"Going by circumstantial evidences in the Sambhu Nath Pandit building fire, it seems that the fire was primarily because of electrical short circuit. Luckily, no one was stuck inside. It took around 40 minutes to douse the blaze," he said
The second fire incident was reported at around 4 pm at a house on Elliot Road, police said.
The building which was engulfed into fire in the Elliot Road, was used for commercial purpose, a senior officer of the fire department said.
"The reason of the fire is yet to be ascertained. We have evacuated a few people who were inside the building. But there were several inflammable materials like clothes stored inside the building which helped in spreading the fire," the officer said.
Five fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the fire that broke out, he said.
