Fire breaks out in two godowns; none hurt

A fire today broke out in two godowns here in which goods worth lakhs of rupees are feared to have been gutted even as no casualties were reported, a top official of fire department said.

The fire broke out at a godown of a drug company in Dewas Nakh area on the outskirts of the city. Thereafter it spread into another furniture godown nearby, Fire Brigade Superintendent Hemlata Kureel said.

Nobody was injured, the officer said, adding prima facie it seems goods worth lakhs of rupees have been gutted.

Eight fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the blaze, Kureel added.
