Three structures of Kashmir University here were partially damaged today in a fire apparently caused due to a short-circuit.

"Fire broke out in a residential quarter at Kashmir University at Hazratbal which resulted in partial damage to three single-storey buildings," a Fire and Emergency department official said.

The blaze was brought under control by fire tenders with the help of police and university employees, the official said, adding that no one was injured in the incident.

The fire was apparently caused by a short-circuit but investigations would reveal the exact cause, he added.
