A fire broke out in a 13-storey residential building in suburban Jogeshwari this evening.

Fire brigade officials said a short circuit resulted into a blaze in the electric duct room on the seventh floor of Monopoly Society.

"We got a call around 8pm... We have rushed five fire tankers. It is now under control and no casualty has been reported," an official said.

"There was a lot of smoke, this caused panic among the children who started shouting... But the fire brigade has managed to evacuate everyone," a civic official said.

Recently, a fireman died during a rescue operation at Lotus Business Park in suburban Andheri after a fire broke out on one of its top floors.
