Fire in a factory, 1 injured

A security guard was injured today when a fire broke out in an electronic goods manufacturing unit in Nariana industrial area in south west Delhi, police and fire officials said.

The fire broke out on the ground floor of the three- storeyed factory and a call was received by the Fire Service at 7.45 AM, a Delhi Fire Service official said.

Thirteen fire tenders were immediately rushed to douse the flames.

The security guard, identified as Jitender, was present in the factory premises sustained grievous burn injuries and was taken to Safdarjung Hospital, police said.

The ground floor of the building was stocked with electrical and electronic goods which include coolers, elevision sets and fans, that were gutted in the fire, they said.
 

It took the fire fighters more than an hour to douse the fire and launch the cooling operation afterwards, said the Fire Service official.
