A fire broke out at a building in Beniapukur area in the central part of the city today, police said.
Four fire tenders worked for half an hour to put off the flame which broke out in first floor of the building, located near Park Street-Mullick Bazar crossing.
There was no report of any casualty.
The fire was believed to have been triggered by a short circuit, police said.
